FIS-Brand Products A 'Brand' New Way to Save

"Store brand" products can be as good as comparable "name brand" products, yet they cost a lot less money. Likewise, FIS-brand products are a lower-cost alternative to "name brand" products and are every bit as good!  FIS-Brand products include:  

FIS Fiber Optic Tissues - Used dry or with a cleaning solvent, these tissues are great for cleaning fiber optic connector endfaces and also for preparing fibers for termination or splicing.

FIS Fiber Optic Swabs – These fiber optic cleaning swabs provide you with extra reach when cleaning fiber optic connector endfaces that are located inside mating sleeves, bulkheads and other hard to reach areas. Available in 2.5mm and 1.25mm sizes.

Fiber Optic Cleaning Solution – When cleaning the endface of fiber optic connectors, this fast-acting cleaner enables you to work quickly and efficiently. It dries fast and does not leave a residue.

Isopropyl Alcohol Products - When using alcohol to clean optic connector endfaces, you must use alcohol of exceptional purity. This 99% reagent grade isopropyl alcohol can enable you to achieve better transmission performance. Available as liquid or as pre-filled foam swabs.

Fiber Optic Disposal Unit - This is a handy and safe solution for disposing of cleaved fiber ends. The unit's snap-on cover has holes for holes for receiving fiber pieces or cover may be removed to expose plastic catch webbing. Affordable enough to have one handy wherever they are needed.

Fiber Optic Wipes - These are non-woven cloth wipes designed to leave any lint residue and also to eliminate the risk of scratching when cleaning fiber optic connector endfaces. These wipes may be used alone or with fiber optic cleaning solutions.

Pre-Moistened Degreaser Wipes – Our new Icky-Clean wipes can be used to clean both fiber optic and copper cables. Use to remove Icky-Pic or gels from cables prior to splicing or termination. Great for outside plant applications. Ideal for cleaning tools as well.

Fiber Optic Cleaning Pen – This pen-like tool is a great way to apply just the right amount of cleaning solution to your wipe or swab when cleaning fiber optic adapters.

Canned Air – Before uncoupling a fiber optic connector for inspection or cleaning, it's a good idea to eliminate dust from the surrounding area. The FIS Micro Duster includes an extension nozzle that makes it easy to send a blast of compressed into hard to reach areas.

Matching Gel - Also known as "optical couplant," Matching Gel is used to minimize optical loss between mated fibers in fiber optic mechanical splices and connectors. The Gel accomplishes this by reducing the difference in the index of refraction of the two optical fibers.

Connector Cleaner Cartridge - The FIS Hand Held Connector Cleaner can be used as an alternative to alcohol or moistened wipes. The cartridge contains lint-free cleaning media that does a great job of removing dust, grease and other contaminants from connector endfaces. The cartridge has a cleaning surface that is supported by a rubber pad that prevents scratching of the connector endface during the cleaning process.  A sliding cover protects the cleaning media from contamination when not in use. Refills are available.
