Fiber Fence 50 Offers Low Cost Perimeter Security

Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc. (FIS) has put perimeter security within reach of smaller businesses with its affordable Fiber Fence™ 50 Kit. Easy to install on existing chain-link fencing, Fiber Fence 50 monitors up to 1,000 feet of perimeter, which is approximately the perimeter of a football field. No power is required along the fence line.

The patented Fiber Fence system uses fiber optic sensing cable and tripping devices, called Mouse Trips, to detect intrusion attempts anywhere along a perimeter. The system's Control Unit provides an instant alert when an intruder disturbs the cable or the fence to which it is attached.

The system costs under $2,000 and includes Control Unit (desktop or rack mountable), 1,000 feet of sensing cable, 15 Mouse Trips, 300 tie wraps, relay outputs for optional remote monitoring, and installation instructions.

Other Fiber Fence systems are available that can monitor up to 80 Km, or 50 miles, of perimeter. Because Fiber Fence is upgradeable, large facilities can try the Fiber Fence 50 before they commit to a larger system.
