Fiber Instrument Sales (FIS), is playing a role in history by supplying fiber optic products that will support the U.S. Presidential Inauguration on January 20. The company is providing fiber optic cable assemblies to three major networks that will telecast the event.

Millions of TV viewers at home and abroad will tune in to witness Barack Obama being sworn in as the first black President of the United States. He will be our 44th President.

According to FIS President Frank Giotto, "It goes without saying that this will be one of the most significant events in U.S. history. I am pleased that ABC, NBC and CNN all chose FIS for the quality components they need to support their telecasts. Also, FIS fiber optic cables and components are being installed in a new Visitor's Center under the Capitol Building to enable the Associated Press to communicate with broadcasting companies such as CNN."

The main event of the Inauguration is the swearing-in ceremony of the President and Vice President, which will occur outdoors around noon on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol.

Other Inauguration Day events include a morning worship service, procession to the capitol, Inaugural Speech by the new President, Inaugural Luncheon, Parade, and the Inaugural Ball.

Attendance at the Inauguration is estimated to be 2 to 4 million people, and TV viewers around the world could number in the billions.

Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc. (FIS) was founded in 1985 to fulfill the growing need in the communications industry for fiber optic cables and connectivity equipment. Today, the company has 250 employees, serves a global market, and maintains one of the largest inventories of fiber optic products in the world.
