Well, fall is here and I'm happy to see the leaves turning that nice "coppery" color. Fall also reminds me that the school season has begun, so let's look at some exciting developments in the area of training and education.
FIS employees have been trained extensively and are now well versed in FIS' new line of copper products. Molex, Leviton, Superior Essex and other FIS vendors conducted weekly training sessions for FIS staff. Derek Curtis and I provided additional in-house training.
FIS staff also completed the following certification training courses, involving both fiber and copper cabling solutions, which were conducted by AMP Netconnect Division / Tyco Electronics.
• Installing Premises Cabling Systems
• Troubleshooting Premises Cabling Systems
• Designing Premises Cabling Systems
Customer Training
These same three courses will soon be available to FIS customers as well, as part of our "Total Cabling Solutions" training program. The courses will be held at FIS and/or its Brightside training facility in the Adirondacks. We will also conduct the training programs in various cities around the country. The courses will offer various BICSI continuing education credits.
FIS Tech Fair
Derek Curtis, System Sales Account Manager, will assist me in hosting the first FIS Tech Fair. FIS customers who attend this event will get to meet our top vendors and learn about their newest products. The event is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino, which is within easy driving distance from FIS. The Turning Stone has outstanding meeting facilities and guest accommodations.
Watch for details about all of these exciting developments in upcoming issues of Communicator!
