FIS Training Specialist
John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome. He is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Applied Computer Technology Department, NTID, at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is also a member of BICSI.
John's broad experience in fiber optic connectivity and computer technologies, including LAN applications, make him exceptionally well equipped to teach the FIS Fiber Optics I & II Course.
Fiber Optics I & II Course Description
This course provides a solid foundation for technicians to work in the field of fiber optics. Students learn connector assembly, fusion splicing, test equipment operation and much more.
Instruction includes use of thirty-five essential fiber optic tools including fusion splicers, jacket strippers, polishing films and equipment, microscopes, power meters, light sources, different style connectors, crimp tools, epoxies, heat ovens, scribes, various fiber, and more.
