Polarization Maintaining Fiber Optic Patch Cords

Polarization Maintaining (PM) Patch Cords are made using specialty fiber that uses stress applying parts to make the light signal travel along a controlled path. There are 2 common types of PM fiber – Panda and Bowtie. Common applications for PM patchcords are high speed telecommunications, such as 10 Gbs (Gigabit per second) and 40 Gbs, interferometer sensors, fiber amplifiers and beam splitters.
