Frank Giotto
Frank GiottoFrank Giotto founded Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc. in 1985. Under his vision and leadership, FIS has become one of the leading distributors of fiber optic connectivity equipment in the nation. In 2002, Mr. Giotto founded FIS Security, a new division created to meet today's need for innovative security solutions. Mr. Giotto is a great proponent of education. He authored the FIS Laboratory Manual, a popular addition to the fiber optic curriculum taught at many colleges, universities and technical schools. He is a Member of the Board of Utica College, and a member of various professional organizations. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he received a degree in Mathematics. Mr. Giotto founded a number of successful companies, including two fiber optics firms and Force Guided Relays (FGR), a company that manufactures industrial safety devices.
Kirk Donley
KirkDonleyKirk joined FIS in 1995, working in the company's International Sales Department. He has since held a number of positions within the company where he gained extensive business and technical experience. Kirk has worked in Outside Sales and later became the company's General Sales Manager. He also served as Strategic Accounts Manager, and was most recently promoted to the position of Vice President of Sales. His many responsibilities include directing the company's sales operation, managing special projects, and assisting key accounts. Kirk also represents FIS at industry conferences and trade shows around the country. Kirk holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from State University of New York (SUNY) at Utica, as well as an Associates Degree in Advertising from Mohawk Valley Community College.
Kathleen O'Meara
Kathleen O'MearaKathleen O'Meara joined FIS in August 2004 and quickly became a strong, integral member of the Sales Team. Presently, Kathleen is a Regional Sales Manager, specializing in CATV/Telco accounts. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a minor in Economics. She has completed the Fiber Optics I & II Course as well as many other in-house training classes. She has also received vendor training and is certified for 3M Hot Melt Connectors and 3M OSP Closures. Kathleen's customers know that she can provide the solutions they need, and that she will make every effort to ensure quick delivery of their orders. In her spare time Kathleen enjoys motorcycles, fast cars and being outdoors - especially at the beach.
Tom Joslin
Tom JoslinPrior to joining FIS in 2004, Thomas, worked for a freight company as a US Customs Broker. His export experience continued with internships at BOSCH in Reutlingen, Germany and Daimler Chrysler in Stuttgart, Germany. He worked for BMW in Munich, Germany, where he gained valuable experience in Executive Sales Strategy. Thomas is currently studying the Spanish, French and Russian languages to complement his existing German fluency. He has completed the FIS Fiber Fence/Security training course, Fiber Optics I and II, and AMPACT Training 1,2, and 3. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business from Northeastern University in Boston, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business from the European School of Business (ESB) in Reutlingen, Germany. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys hunting and fishing.
Sue Muraca
Sue MuracaSue joined FIS in 1987 and applies her 20 years of fiber optics experience to provide superior service and solutions for her customers. She has received her Certificate of Completion for Fiber Optics, Advanced Fiber Optics, and Local Area Network training classes. Sue has been awarded product sponsorship at FIS Creativity Weekend. In her spare time, she likes to golf and spend lots of time with her husband and two children.
Debbie Bruno
Debbie BrunoDebbie has over 10 years of experience in developing customer accounts. Her integrity and eagerness to help customers are two reasons why she is one of the top performers at FIS. Debbie's customers know that they can count on her to always go the extra mile. Another reason for Debbie's success is her extensive product knowledge. Debbie has taken numerous in-house training courses, including Fiber Optics I and II, as well as vendor-sponsored training classes that focus on specific products within the FIS product line. Debbie was born in the Mohawk Valley and currently resides in Boonville, New York, with her husband, John Bruno, who is FIS' Training Specialist.
Lori Carrier
Lori CarrierLori came to FIS in 2004 with 20 years of administrative experience. At FIS she quickly became knowledgeable in fiber optics and sales, and now uses her multiple talents to meet the diverse needs of her customers. Lori is a graduate of State University of New York (SUNY) Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Business/Public Management. She has also taken various fiber optics courses, including vendor-sponsored classes that focus on specific products in the FIS product line. Lori was born in Utica, New York, and currently resides with her husband and their dog in the town of Woodgate in the Adirondacks. In her spare time, Lori enjoys golfing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and walking in the beautiful Adirondack countryside.
Justin Angleton
Justin AngletonJustin joined FIS in 2006 with a background in media sales and marketing. He is presently a Sales Associate, specializing in Government Sales in FIS' Region 3 Sales Territory. He is a graduate of Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida, and holds a degree in Hospitality Administration. According to Justin, "At FIS, my sales approach reflects lessons I've learned from the service industry. Treat your customer right, and sales will naturally follow." A self-proclaimed "sports fanatic," Justin played for the Lynn University Knights baseball team, Sunshine State Conference. Justin is very family-oriented, and he and his fiancé are currently planning their 2008 wedding.
John DeMetro
John DeMetroJohn joined FIS in January 2007. His unique background makes him well equipped to provide for his customers' needs. Prior to joining FIS, John gained broad technical skills while working for 10 years as a Nuclear Missile Electronics Technician for the U.S. Air Force. After that, he gained customer service and sales experience as a Sales Manager for a printing company. According to John, "I've found that knowledge is the single most important requirement for success in any field. At FIS, being knowledgeable about my customers' businesses makes me better able to serve them." John studied Business Management at Bradford Business School in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and Business Administration at Mohawk Valley Community College. John enjoys family activities with his three children. His hobbies include fishing, NASCAR, and coaching a high school football team.
Steve Hovey
Steve HoveySteve joined FIS in January 2007 and brings to the company 16 years of sales and management experience. According to Steve, "My background includes restaurant management where I learned the importance of providing exceptional customer service. At FIS, I strive to exceed customer expectations by being responsive to client needs and delivering service with the highest degree of professionalism. In other words, I treat my customers exactly the same way that I would want to be treated." Steve holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from State University of New York (SUNY) in Oswego. In his free time, Steve likes to ski, golf, and snowmobile. He also enjoys music and plays guitar.
Monica Tyson
Monica TysonMonica joined FIS in 2006. Her previous experience includes two years in sales at another fiber optics company. In addition to sales experience, Monica brings to FIS considerable energy, enthusiasm and a desire to serve her International customers to the best of her ability. According to Monica, "During college, I had the opportunity to travel to various countries overseas. As a member of the International Department, I'm looking forward to traveling internationally again to meet with customers." Monica has completed a number of in-house training programs including the Fiber Optics I & II Course, the Advanced Fiber Optic Training Course, and many other in-house training classes. Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish and Human Services, from Wingate University in North Carolina. She and her husband live in Mohawk, NY.
Michael Noonan
Michael NoonanAs an International Sales Associate at FIS, Mike has a broad range of responsibilities. In addition to quoting prices and taking orders, Mike answers questions and helps to resolve any issues that his international customers may have. In serving people of different cultures, building trust and confidence is one of the most important aspects of his job. According to Mike, "I believe that honesty is the cornerstone of good customer service. It is the one attribute that people of all nations desire and respect." Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from Syracuse University. He has three brothers, and grew up playing a lot of sports. Mike continues to enjoy golf, softball, fishing and Frisbee.
Cassidy Marchev
Cassidy MarchevCassidy joined FIS in 2007 after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Utica College of Syracuse University. He is also pursuing an MBA degree at SUNY Institute of Technology.
To help support himself during his undergraduate years, Cassidy worked as an electrician. According to Cassidy, "I am happy to have the opportunity at FIS to expand my knowledge to fiber optics. I know that the company provides its customers with 'total' cabling solutions involving both fiber optic and copper technologies. I strive to apply my technical abilities as well as my business knowledge to enhance service to FIS and its customers."
In his free time, Cassidy enjoys riding his four-wheeler and snowmobile. He is a die-hard New York Mets baseball fan and enjoys attending their games.
Becky Wood
Becky WoodBecky joined FIS in 2003. As the company's Training Coordinator, Becky is responsible for coordinating and promoting FIS training programs, including the Fiber Optics I & II Course as well as Fiber Fence Security Training. "When scheduling classes, I try to accommodate customer needs in every way possible," said Becky. "For example, I make sure that classes are scheduled in areas of the country that are most convenient to our customers. I also arrange Corporate Training for groups of employees at their place of business. For the summer months, I love to tell people about the training we conduct at Brightside-On-Raquette, our popular lakeside retreat in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York State." Becky attended Mohawk Valley Community College. She enjoys camping, traveling and other family activates with her husband and three children.
Valerie Sitler
Valerie SitlerUpon joining Fiber Instrument Sales in 1993, Valerie found herself at the helm of the new International Department. Her experience in the United States Customs Service as an Export Coordinator and Inspector proved invaluable to FIS in expanding its business internationally. Following her success with the International Division, Valerie was appointed Domestic Sales Manager in 1995 and more recently to Senior Vice President. Building a team of highly trained and technically astute sales associates has been just one of Valerie's great successes during her time at FIS. Valerie is also President and principal owner of FIS Blue, a new FIS affiliate company created to serve the needs of Government and the Broadcast industries for specialized connectors and patchcords. Valerie is a graduate of Niagara University, NY. and holds a BA in Political Science.
Laura Gribneau
Laura GribneauSince joining FIS in 1994, Laura's technical knowledge and management skills have resulted in her appointment to a number of positions within FIS. Ultimately, her abilities and commitment to customer service resulted in her appointment to her present position as Vice President of International Sales. Laura, whose father's work involves laser technology, has been exposed to photonics most of her life. It is not uncommon to find her reading the latest fiber optic textbooks, or investigating the latest technological breakthroughs. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, gardening and snowmobiling. Laura is a Long Island, New York native, and has lived in Georgia, Hawaii and California before settling in Central New York.
Paula Chmielewski
Paula ChmielewskiPaula began her fiber optics career at FIS in 2000. She brought to the company considerable sales experience, and soon was appointed to sales positions in Educational Sales and Contractors/Resellers/OEM Sales. Her advancements continued and she became the company's Distribution Accounts Manager. In 2005 Paula was promoted to Regional Sales Manager. According to Paula, "I feel that the most important part of my position, and that of my staff, is to build customer relationships. I enjoy traveling, so I welcome the opportunity to visit a customer's facility to meet with them." Paula graduated summa cum laude from State University of New York (SUNY) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. In her spare time, Paula likes to garden, read, and travel.
Cindy Marino
Cindy MarinoDuring her 16 years with FIS, Cindy has efficiently managed the Accounting, Shipping and Government Sales Departments at FIS. In her current position as Vice Present of Government Sales, Cindy is responsible for all FIS sales to U.S. Government agencies. She and her staff are dedicated to providing their government customers with the highest level of service possible, in keeping with FIS' status as a GSA listed company. Cindy is very detailed oriented and applies those skills to meet the needs of her Government customers, both Domestic and International. This includes ensuring that FIS products are readily available to meet the crucial needs of U.S. military facilities overseas.
John Bruno
John BrunoJohn joined FIS in 1996. As the company's Training Specialist, John is responsible for providing Fiber Optic training to hundreds of FIS customers annually. He conducts training in cities around the country, as well as at FIS facilities. John also conducts Corporate Training for groups of employees at their place of business. John also serves as an in-house network specialist at FIS, helping to ensure that the company's computer systems remain in top shape. Prior to coming to FIS, John worked for a computer consulting firm. He holds an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Morrisville College and a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Computer Science from SUNY Utica/Rome. In his free time, John enjoys hockey, softball, basketball and golf. He is also a fireman with the Oriskany Falls Fire Department.
Jana Jesmer
Jana JesmerJana Jesmer has been a part of the FIS team since September 2001. She has a thorough knowledge of the FIS product line and is able to help her customers locate the items they need for their many different applications. Jana is graduate of California State, San Bernadine. Since joining FIS, she has completed the Fiber Optics I & II courses. Because of her knowledge, skills and ability to adapt, FIS and her customers find her helpful and able to rise to any challenge. In the eight years that Jana has been here at FIS, she has proved herself as an essential part of the FIS sales department. Her enthusiasm motivates her colleagues and customers alike.
Kim Inman
Kim InmanKim joined FIS in 1997. Her work at FIS includes six years as a cable assembly technician, where she gained vast technical knowledge of the cabling and connectivity products distributed by FIS. She quickly progressed to become a production team leader. In 2001 Kim was appointed head of Training at the FIS cable manufacturing plant, where many of the people she trained are skillfully building the custom products our customers order today. Today, as Sales Associate, Kim shares her depth of knowledge with her customers, ensuring the right choice of products for each customer's need. At home, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, an FIS Technical Support Specialist, and their three children. Kim enjoys gardening and redecorating their 19th Century home.
Sally Fenton
Sally FentonSally joined FIS in 2005. Prior to coming to FIS she worked as a repair technician for an optometrist, where her work was very exacting and precise. Sally's meticulous work habits, coupled with her desire to provide outstanding service, has made her a great asset to FIS and its customers. "I always try to fulfill customer needs accurately and to provide the shortest possible turnaround time on their orders," she said. "I'm not happy unless my customer is happy!" Sally attended Mohawk Valley Community College and has received fiber optic training at FIS. Her training has included classes conducted by FIS vendors, which has helped her become very knowledgeable about the FIS product line. In her free time, Sally likes to ski, snowmobile and roller blade.
Jessica Inman
Jessica InmanJessica started at FIS in January 2006. Prior to her promotion to Retail Sales Manager, Jessica was a Sales Associate in FIS Region 2 Sales Territory. Her current responsibilities include managing the Fiber Optics to Go retail program through which FIS products are made available at contractor retail outlets around the country. Since joining FIS, Jessica has received training and certifications in a number of areas. These include Fiber Optics (Fiber Optics I Course) Fiber Optic Product Sales, Effective Sales Communication, and Supervisory Skills for Middle Level Managers. Jessica also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from SUNY Oneonta. Jessica is as busy at home as she is at work. She recently purchased her first home and is in the process of planning her wedding.
Tim Hardiman
Tim HardimanTim has been with FIS since January 2007. Since joining the FIS team, he has completed the company's Fiber Optics and Advanced Fiber Optics Training Courses. Prior to coming to FIS, Tim worked in various aspects of management and sales. "In my current position at FIS, I strive to build good customer relationships by providing excellent service and sales support, said Tim. "I also try to be a good listener, which enables me to determine my customer's exact needs." Tim graduated from Paul Smith's College in the Adirondacks in 1999 with a degree in Culinary Arts. Having been raised and educated in the Adirondacks, he became an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hiking, swimming and canoeing. In his spare time, Tim can be found in the kitchen, cooking for friends and family.
Scott Phillips
Scott PhillipsAs System Sales Account Manager, Scott supports the FIS initiative of providing customers with end-to-end premise cabling solutions, involving both fiber and copper technologies. Scott has 26 years experience in the telecommunications industry. He has held a variety of positions in the areas of installation, testing, engineering, R & D, technical support and sales. Scott has worked for Nortel Networks, MCI/WorldCom and Adelphia Communications. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering. In his free time, Scott is an avid golfer.
Mark Roberts
Mark RobertsMark joined FIS in 2006. He brings to the company 10 years of sales experience, including five years as a bank sales manager. According to Mark, "My banking background has impressed upon me the importance of establishing trust with my customers. When I joined FIS, I liked the fact that it is a solid company with a long tradition of service to its clients. As with FIS, I want my customers to know that I will be there when they need me, and that I will do whatever it takes to ensure their satisfaction." Mark holds an Associates Degree in Business/Marketing from Alfred State College, Alfred, NY. In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his two daughters. He also enjoys many outdoor activities including camping, fishing and swimming.
William Batchelor
William BatchelorBill joined FIS in 2006. He brings to the company a broad range of experience well suited to his responsibilities as FIS Security Division Manager. Bill's previous experience includes mechanical and electrical engineering with the United States Air Force. He has also worked in law enforcement with the New York State Madison County Sheriff's Department, and has worked in Telecommunication Sales with Cingular Wireless. Bill has earned credits toward a Civil Engineering degree. As FIS Security Division Manager, Bill's responsibilities include overall management of FIS security products, security system sales, and installer training. According to Bill, "I listen very carefully to what the customer is telling me, rather than assuming that I already know what they need. By working closely with the client, I can provide the proper security solutions for their facility."
