Brightside Training Center
TWO-DAY, ALL INCLUSIVE, CERITIFED FIBER OPTIC TRAINING
AT THE BRIGHTSIDE TRAINING CENTER
FIS University’s Brightside Training Center features an unparalleled, all-inclusive fiber-optic learning experience.
Located on Raquette Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, approximately 80 miles north of Fiber Instrument Sales’ Technology Park and Headquarters in Oriskany NY, the Brightside Training Center offers participants focused, industry-certified, hands-on fiber optic instruction.
The course fee includes lodging and meals for the entire duration of the two consecutive day program, plus all necessary study materials. Classes and accommodations are all on one site, thus also avoiding the need to drive daily between lodging and training locations. The Brightside Training Center’s lodging facility consists of 14 private bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
Participants will be exposed to fiber optic splicing, termination methods, broadband and network testing, standards testing, power meter and light source operation, and more via actual hands-on experience with the industry’s latest tools used by fiber optic network installers, technicians, and broadband professionals.
Participants will receive industry-recognized certifications reflecting 16 hours of BICSI continuing education credits, along with ETA International prerequisite recognition for those seeking to further advance their fiber optic and/or broadband studies.
Programs offered at the Brightside include Fiber Optics I and Fiber Optics II, both of which are great for beginners as well as seasoned professionals who wish to enhance their fiber optic education and career objectives.

• Cleaning
• Advantages of Fiber Optics
• Components in a Link
• Cable Layers
• Singlemode vs. Multimode
• Fiber Standards (OS2, OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4)
• CWDM
• DWDM
• SWDM
• Bend Optimized Fiber
• Transceivers
• Multifiber Cable Construction
• Fiber Optic Connectors
