The FLS-240 Pocket Pal is a compact, portable and straightforward solution that enables you to easily identify breaks, bends, faulty fiber optic connectors or defective splices, as well as other causes of signal loss in fiber optic cable. The unit's powerful laser light source enables you to detect faults in a fiber optic link over distances of up to 5km. The unit functions by emitting a bright red light, which you can see as a visible glow at the exact location of loss in a fiber optic link. You can use the Pocket Pal for both multimode or singlemode optical fibers. This fiber optic testing device features rubber seals, a fully enclosed laser head and a durable on/off switch. The unit's laser operates at 635nm and typically provides up to 50 hours of operation in pulsed mode. This Visual Fault Locator is an excellent complement to our other hand held fiber optic test equipment including power meters and light sources, test sets, OTDRs and more.
