Fiber Optic Mid Span Access Tools

Cutting a buffer tube mid-span without damaging the optical fibers inside can be a challenge - unless you have this specialized tool. Simply attach the tool and pull it along the buffer tube to slit the tube safely.

The Miller Mid-Span Access Tool (MSAT-5) is used to quickly and easily access fibers in 1.9mm to 3mm buffer tubes in a mid-span location without damage to fiber. No blade adjustment is necessary.

The new MSAT™ 16, an exciting new solution designed to easily access fibers in buffer tubes ranging from 1 to 3 mm diameters in mid-span applications.

This tool can access fibers in 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm buffer tubes. Buffer tube size gauges are located on the tool body for ease of selecting proper tube slitting channel.

The MS-26 Mid Span Slitter is designed to open fiber jackets and loose buffer tubes to provide easy fiber access. The MS-26 is designed to work on cables or buffer tubes ranging in size from 2.9mm to 6.8mm in diameter. It's sleek ergonomic design allows you to open a jacket or buffer tube without damaging the fiber.

The ergonomic and multi-purpose Miller® MB02 is a precision slitter designed to perform accurate ring and longitudinal cuts on various dielectric cables up to 0.60" (15.25 mm) in diameter. 

This tool is designed to help efficiently open Wrapping Tube Cable in both end prep and mid sheath entry. The blade angle and tool shape help prevent the blade from cutting too deep.

Unique articulating hinge allows accurate end and mid-span stripping without disassembling the tool -- simply close the tool over the cable and pull to slit the jacket. Ergonomic design with convenient opening tabs fits comfortably in hand and requires minimal effort to use. The FOD-2000 Fiber Optic Drop Cable Slitter is a patent pending tool that simplifies the slitting of drop cable jackets at the end of the cable or mid-span. The FOD-2000 puts a slit on both sides of the jacket allowing easy access to the fiber or strength member.

This tool is designed for mid-span entry to fibers in a multiple of buffer tube sizes. The tool “shaves” only the tube wall to access the fibers providing safe, and reliable access.
