Fiber Optic Snowshoes

AFL Fiber Storage Units (FSU) are used to conveniently and safely store an extra length of cable along the support strand for later use. Sold as pairs (kit contains 2 FSUs and 2 sets of hanger brackets). FSUs are constructed from dielectric polypropylene with UV inhibitor or aluminum with baked acrylic enamel finish. All basic hardware for attachment to the support strand is provided. Galvanized strand clamping devices accommodate 1/4” to 7/16” strand.

Preformed Line Products’ aerial cable attachment hardware solutions use innovative Cable Capture Tabs to efficiently manage cable slack making them simpler, easier and quicker to install with fewer cable ties. This saves time and money and makes adjustments for slack loop length easy. The unique CLAS system can be used with either ADSS or lashed applications and simply folds over the cable and straps in place without needing any mounting hardware. CLAS units include cable ties. Abrasion protection guides are standard with the CLAS system and optional for the other styles. Optional block style Uni-Group cable guides are also available for all styles. The plastic Sno Shoe is used to store additional lengths of fiber along the strand for later use. Sno Shoe is a durable and cost effective tool for storing fiber optic cable in the air. Adjustable Sno Shoes can be used aerially with standard tap brackets or the optional ADSS brackets. It can be mounted directly to the pole, or even in a manhole – anywhere you would want to store all of the slack at one location. Sno Shoes sold per pair.
