FIS ATLAS OTDR


The ATLAS OTDR by FIS is the perfect handheld testing device for a range of fiber optic applications. With a dynamic range of 26dB it can test through a 1x8 splitter for FTTH applictions. It has an on-board Visual Fault Locator, Power Meter, Light Source; having the capability of an all-in one optical loss test set (OLTS). The ATLAS OTDR stores files in the commonly used .SOR format and comes with reporting software that will print large batches of OTDR scans into professional, easy to read PDF reports. What’s also included is our user friendly graphical mapping software or called “gMAP”. This alternative OTDR scan allows even the most inexperienced user to easily interpret the information needed to identify, troubleshoot and verify the important characteristics of a fiber optic cable installation.

FIS SINGLEMODE LOSS TEST KIT


Our fiber optic test kit, proudly manufactured in Upstate NY, includes a power meter calibrated for six wavelengths and a unique duplex LC/UPC optical light source. The fixed duplex LC port allows independent operation of 1310 & 1550nm wavelengths. With a 2kHz tone modulation for fiber identification, the kit comes complete with a connector ferrule cleaner and necessary accessories for dB loss testing. FIS MPO VISUAL FAULT LOCATOR WITH POLARITY VERIFIER


This rugged, weather and shock resistant MPO VFL for Multimode or Singlemode cable assemblies is a great troubleshooting tool that is needed to establish or confirm polarity, continuity, and macrobends within an MPO optical system. FIS SR4 MPO Visual Verifier


With the steady increase of utilizing 40 and 100 Gig systems using Multimode MPO assemblies, the “SR4” polarity verifier has proven to be a very useful setup around the industry. As with most MPO networks, continuity and polarity verification can prove challenging and time-consuming. Traditional methods involve expensive breakout cables and single fiber visual fault locators, checking only one channel at a time. The new SR4 Visual Verifier made by FIS, allows the user to quickly ensure the proper continuity of the first four and last four channels of the MPO cable with visible light. Its handheld design, coupled with its straightforward easy to use keypad interface will determine if all channels are properly installed.
As an accessory, the Optical Polarity Verifier can be used to confirm proper continuity with SR4 configurations if an MPO breakout cassette is not available. It is also utilized in confirming A, B, and C polarities in traditional MPO networks.
FIS POCKET FAULT LOCATORS




The FIS Fiber Optic Pocket Fault Locators are designed to be rugged, compact, and lightweight. These units are 7.1" in length and weigh approximately 4.5oz. With a 30-hour battery life in continuous mode and 40 hours in modulated mode, the bright 650nm (red) laser which has a range of up to 5Km ensures the fast and easy location of fault points within fiber optic patchcords, patch panels, and enclosures. They can also be used to identify fibers in multi-fiber cables, and it is designed for both singlemode and multimode fiber optic applications. These units are shipped with two "AA" batteries and a belt holster.

FIS VISUAL FAULT LOCATOR


The FIS Visual Fault Locator is an essential tool for troubleshooting a fiber optic system. A 1mW packaged laser sends a 650nm visible red light down the length of the fiber. The escaping light allows easy identification of breaks or severe macro bends. Internal optics are used to optimize the unit’s performance for either singlemode or multimode applications. FIS CONTINUITY TESTER

Ever increasing network speeds and tighter loss budgets make qualifying multimode fiber links a formidable challenge. Part of the challenge can stem from test instruments. In some scenarios different test instruments can produce different measurement results on the same network due to variations in launch conditions between test sources. Encircled Flux (EF) standards, TIA-526-14-B and IEC 61280-4-1 Ed. 2.0, define a method of controlling multimode launch conditions for optical test sources. More consistent test source launch conditions equate to more accurate and repeatable measurements. This is the goal driving the migration to encircled flux standards.

The FIS Fiber Ranger is portable, rugged, lightweight, and easy to use. Up to 8 fiber faults can be detected in each measurement. FIS MULTIMODE MANDRELS


The use of mandrels in multimode insertion loss testing helps to ensure the proper launch condition into the fiber under test. By wrapping the fiber around the correct size mandrel, high order modes are stripped out and low order modes are spread out to achieve the desired launch conditions for testing. Each includes the mandrel and clip for holding the cable firmly in place during testing. Accepts jacket diameters from 1.6mm to 3.0mm and for use with both OM1, OM2 cable. FIS FIBER INSPECTION PROBE


This Fiber Inspection Probe, our newest offering at FIS, is loaded with features at a comparably low cost. The ergonomic hand held design can be used in a completely vertical/horizontal fashion or it can fold inward to about a 45 degree angle allowing it to be used in a number of positions within anenclosure or patch panel.
With the push of one button the probe will lock onto the connector end faceimage, automatically center and focus it and then analyze it against theindustry I.E.C. end face inspection criteria to display a PASS or FAIL. The probehas a WiFi USB adapter that can be used to transfer saved data wirelessly to a laptop or computer. USB hardwire connection also is available.

FIS BENCHTOP MICROSCOPE


This American made high resolution benchtop microscope for inspecting connector end faces works great with large core fiber or standard optical fiber. It is made with a powder coated aluminum housing that will sit firmly on any surface for your benchtop/laboratory set up. This microscope is available in 200x or 400x magnification power and includes an interchangeable 2.5mm universal adapter which allows for the inspection of SC, ST, and FC connectors. This microscope allows the user to manually center the image by turning the easily accessible centering adjustment knobs, so you’ll never have to tolerate an off-centered image. Simply plug the microscope into a laptop or PC's USB port, the microscope can use the computer's built in camera app (Win10 & Win11) to display the magnified image of the ferrule endface. The FIS Video Microscope can also be viewed on most USB enabled tablets and cell phones using free viewing apps (call for details).
