Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP)

FIS provides SFP modules for 100 Mbps(SFP) , 1 Gbps(SFP), 10 Gbps(SFP+), 40 Gbps (QSFP+) and 100 Gbps(QSFP28) Ethernet switches in MSA format. Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Dell, Juniper and many other non-MSA formats are also available. Medias available include Singlemode and Multimode fiber as well as UTP copper. Ask your FIS salesperson to quote any non MSA standard programed SFP.

These SFPs transmit and receive over the same fiber using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) fiber optic technology. These SFPs utilize two different light sources (LASER) to achieve full duplex transmission over a single fiber minimizing fiber usage.

SFP+ (enhanced small form-factor pluggable) is an enhanced version of the standard SFP that supports data rates up to 16Gbit/s. This product is available in a singlemode and multimode version.

The QSFP+ supports 4 channels each up to 10Gbit/s, together all the 4 channels combine for a single 40 Gbit/s Ethernet link, 4 channels transmitting and 4 channels receiving.

QSFP28 is a transceiver designed for 100Gbit/s data rate, it utilizes 4 transmit and 4 receive channels with 8 fibers. The “28” stands for each channel or lane carries up to 28Gbit/s rather than 10Gbit/s, so four lanes carry up to 100Gbit/s transmit and 4 lanes carry up to 100Gbit/s in receive direction. These are available in multimode or singlemode.

FIS Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) SFPs are available in multiple ranges (40 – 160 KM) and all 18 CWDM wavelengths (1270 – 1610 nm). Commercial and Extended temperature ranges are also available. These SFPs are MSA compliant but can be coded to be 100% OEM compatible.

The Smart Coder 2 is the perfect device to maintain, test and recode your SFPs, SFP+s and QSFP+s . This device recodes any FIS SFP to over 50 OEM platforms. The testing option of the Smart Coder2 allows the end user to conduct diagnostic monitoring on both FIS and Non-FIS brand SFPs. Testing includes transmit & receive power, temperature, and performance.
