The improved FIS Elastomeric Lab Splice is ideal for making temporary fiber connections and can be reused hundreds of times. To use the splice for instrument testing, simply insert a cleaved pigtail from OTDR or Power Meter and the cleaved unconnectorized fiber to be tested. Excellent for both Multimode and Singlemode fiber, the splice accepts fiber cladding diameters of 125µm to 140µm. The Lab Splices are supplied in blister packs of 6 (containing one of each color: pink, peach, yellow, green, blue and purple) or 12 (containing 2 of each color.)

Save time by testing optical fibers without connectorizing. Easy-to-use, only a single drop of index matching oil is required. Strip, clean and cleave the fiber then insert into the unit until the end face meets the permanently mounted fiber. Specs: Choice of ST, SC or FC style connectors, Insertion Loss 0.6dB, Typical # of insertions: 2000.

The Divot™ is a faster system that uses index matching gel in disposable cartridges to allow for low loss connections and is much more forgiving of the quality of the cleaved fiber end. Each cartridge typically yields 500 insertions - 2 cartridges are included with the kit. Replacement cartridges can be purchased in packs of 3 or 12.

The use of mandrels in multimode insertion loss testing helps to ensure the proper launch condition into the fiber under test. By wrapping the fiber around the correct size mandrel, high order modes are stripped out and low order modes are spread out to achieve the desired launch conditions for testing. Each includes the mandrel and clip for holding the cable firmly in place during testing. Accepts jacket diameters from 1.6mm to 3.0mm and for use with both OM1, OM2 cable. When testing Corning CleareCurve fiber it requires a smaller 4mm radius mandrel which is available.

Designed specifically for testing applications, the FIS Universal Testing Sleeve reduces labor time while testing fiber optic patch cables with standard for 2.5mm ferrules. Adapters for ST or FC reference cord are available.

Plating gold onto a ferrule end creates a high back reflection characteristic at 1310nm and 1550nm when it is connected to a 1 meter length of singlemode fiber. The opposite end is connectorized with your choice of ST, FC, or SC style connector. APC SC and FC are also available.
