Relay Rack and Cabinets
Relay Racks and Cabinets provide a secure area for installing interconnect patch panels, switches, transceivers, and cabling. Floor or wall mounted relay racks typically are offered in 2 or 4 post configurations with a variety of secondary features available. These features offer varying degrees of access, protection, footprint size and support for mounted equipment. Standard relay racks and cabinets have vertical posts that are spaced at either 19” or 23” wide and are used to mount equipment to the rack. Useable relay rack space and the height of associated equipment is commonly measured in ‘Rack Units’, where 1 Rack Unit = 1.75” height.
