Tools & Tool Kit Menu

A fiber optic tool kit contains go-to equipment. A must for any professional technician. With the correct product selection in portable cases, the technician can do the job correctly, and easily and keep the network running efficiently. Having the right test equipment in your kit saves time and money. It also ensures that the fiber network installation has minimal reflectance for faster speeds. We offer standard ready-to-go kits, or we can custom-build a tool kit to your specifications. Whether you are conducting a fiber optic test, installing fiber optic connectors, or performing a fiber optic fusion splice, these tool kits will make it easier for the technician to do their job the right way. Rugged portable cases help keep those tools and equipment in order and are easy to bring to the work area.

The handheld Tool Bag comes equipped with all the necessary items needed for any tech to complete the job. The kit includes a variety of hand tools, a 2.5mm Visual Fault Locator w/ 1.25mm adapter, a 25ft tape measure, an LED flashlight, and FIS cleaning supplies. The padded handle and adjustable shoulder strap make for easy carrying.

The right stripper helps makes your job easier. To prepare the fiber for fusion splicing, the protective acrylate or polymer coating around the optical fiber must be removed. Whether you use a Manual Mechanical Stripper or a Thermal Ribbon Stripper, we can help you choose the correct tool. Typically, there are two popular ways to strip optical fiber. They are mechanical and thermal. In the mechanical method, a handheld stripper like any other wire stripper is used. However, the fiber optic stripper is designed specifically for optical fiber. These strippers are precise when used correctly. They strip away the fiber coating and expose the fiber without damaging it. When stripping ribbon fiber, a thermal fiber stripper is most often used. This stripper is designed to heat the fiber coating and then strip it away.

When working with optical fiber, you do not want your work to be compromised by accidentally damaging fiber. These quality tools are made specifically for fiber applications. These tools belong in any professional’s tool kit. Precision cutting knives, nut drivers, screwdrivers, or pliers will help get the job done without incident.

A fiber optic scribe is used to create a precision-controlled break of an optical fiber after it is inserted into a connector ferrule. The perpendicular, flat surface of the fiber at the end face of the connector prepares the ferrule for polishing. Crimp tools are used to secure a fiber optic connector to the cable it is terminating.
