The Clip-On Variable Attenuator is a completely passive device, which works by physical attenuation of a 3mm jacketed singlemode cable. May be used with smaller jacket sizes however, attenuation performance may vary. It can be attached at any point in a cable, providing attenuation levels from 0 to >47dB at 1550nm (0 to >21dB at 1310nm) and low back reflection. Good for hundreds of uses, and leaves no lasting effects on the cable.
