QSFP+ (enhanced quad small form-factor pluggable) is an evolution of the QSFP which can carry 4 channels simultaneously. The QSFP+ can support 4 channels each up to 10Gbit/s, together all the 4 channels combine for a single 40 Gbit/s Ethernet link, 4 channels transmitting and 4 channels receiving, so 8 fibers in total are required for transmission.
