Fiber Optic Identifiers
EXFO LIVE FIBER IDENTIFIER AND TONE GENERATOR

The EXFO Fiber Finder can identify traffic, direction and tone detection on both active and dark fibers. With less than 1dB of induced loss, a live fiber can quickly be located and the power measured while minimizing network access time and the possibility for errors. The TG-300 is a non-intrusive, non-disruptive tone generator. Because of the low 0.2dB typical loss, they can be used on live fibers. The Fiber Finder and Toner work on all wavelengths and fiber types. One headpiece works on 900µm, 1.6mm and 3mm jackets and tones of 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. The TK-FF kit includes both the Fiber Finder and Toner along with a case, AC adapter and 4 AA batteries per unit.

VIAVI FI-60 Live Fiber Identifier

Live Fiber Identifier easily identifies the optical signal without having to disconnect the fiber or disrupt network traffic. Also converts to an Optical Power Meter (OPM).
The Viavi FI-60 LFI enables users to easily detect the optical signal without disconnecting fiber or disrupting network traffic. The FI-60 LFI also includes the unique Viavi SafeChek™ system, which ensures safe and repeatable engagement with most fiber types without the hassle of changing out costly dies. The FI-60 also converts to an Optical Power Meter (OPM), providing twice the value for your investment and reducing the number of tools carried on the job.

WILCOM FIBER IDENTIFIER

Wilcom’s Optical Fiber Identifiers are rugged metal units with the best sensitivity detection on the market today. They operate by inducing a macrobend on the fiber, and can be used for singlemode and multimode applications. Certain Wilcom models allow Relative Core Power measurements to be displayed. The unit can also detect the presence of 2kHz, 1kHz or 270Hz modulated tones. The optical head accepts a 3mm, 250µm /Ribbon or 900µm fibers.
Each Unit Includes: 9V Alkaline Battery, Carry Case and Interchangeable Heads for 3mm, 900µm, 250µm Fibers.

AFL OFI-BIPMe OPTICAL FIBER IDENTIFIERS

AFL’s OFI-BIPMe optical fiber identifier is an easy-to-use tool that determines if a fiber is live, the transmission direction, and the relative core power on standard and bend-insensitive single-mode and multimode fibers. Its positive stop plunger mechanism provides the right pressure to ensure proper detection while keeping loss to a minimum. The design ensures traffic will not be interrupted and fibers will not be damaged.
The OFI-BIPMe fiber identifier eliminates the need to access the optical fiber at a connection or splice point eliminating the possibility of interrupting service to a valued customer. It provides an integrated optical power meter for verification of power levels during installation or troubleshooting activities. The universal head of this OFI eliminates the need to change adapter heads for jacketed, coated or ribbon fibers, making them extremely easy to use in the field. The touchscreen features provide simple to follow setup and clear to read results. The OFI-BIPMe Optical Fiber Identifier is warranted against defective material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of delivery to the end user.

AFL OPTICAL FIBER IDENTIFIER

The AFL OFI 200D Optical Fiber Identifier is a low-cost, high-tech approach to non-invasive fiber optic signal detection. Using a low-insertion loss, macrobend-detection technique, it discriminates signals without disrupting service or overstressing fiber. By simply clamping an Optical Fiber Identifier onto a gently bent fiber, the unit will indicate if there is [No Signal], [Tone], or [Traffic] and identify signal direction. This is all done with no head swapping or adjustments for different types of fiber, 250µm, 900µm, 3mm jacketed cable and ribbon fiber.
FLUKE FIBERLERT LIVE FIBER DETECTOR

Quickly check fiber activity, polarity, and connectivity. No setup or interpretation required –just place in front of the fiber end face or port and a light and tone indicate an active fiber. This pocket-sized tool tests single-mode, multimode UPC and APC patch cords and ports using a“non-contact”/ non-contaminating detector.
