Quick Termination Connectors

The FIS PRONTO mechanical connectors are factory pre-polished connectors that eliminate the need for hand polishing in the field. Proven mechanical splice technology ensures precise fiber alignment, with a factory pre-cleaved fiber stub and a proprietary index-matching solution to offer an easy to install, low loss mechanical termination to either single-mode or multimode optical fibers.

FIS PRONTO connectors are compatible with 250 µm and 900 µm optical fibers, with 2mm and 3mm options available. All primary fiber types are supported, and each connector is color coded per industry-standard requirements. A factory-installed wedge clip (included with each connector) is removed and discarded upon completion of the termination. Incorporated into this device is an innovative, continuity window enabling the use of a common VFL to indicate a connection once physical contact is achieved.

FIS Bobtail Connectors provide a pre-polished, quick termination style connector for an industry leading value. Bobtail’s are ideal for many applications including, but not limited to, local area networks, restoration work, testing applications, and laboratory settings. The open epoxy canal allows application of Super Glue or any Cyanoacrylate adhesives. As always, your satisfaction is guaranteed or return the connectors to FIS for a complete refund.

The FIS assembly tool is now designed with a precision machined sled to aid in the insertion of the prepared field fiber. This feature virtually eliminates fiber stub breakage and minimizes insertion loss. Includes adapter plates for SC, LC, and ST Bobtail Connectors.

This quick set cyanocrylate adhesive is provided for terminating FIS Bobtail connectors. An accelerant provides even faster cure time, less than 60 seconds.

The UniCam® Pretium™ Tool Kit can quickly install a UniCam Connector in about 45 seconds. From the cleaver, with its integrated fiber scrap bin and dual-clamp precision hold, to the installation tool with its immediate go/no-go feedback signal, the UniCam® Pretium™ Tool Kit was thoughtfully designed with the needs of network installers in mind.

With proven field-installable connector technology, fiber terminations using the OptiSnap™ connector system are fast, easy and reliable. Corning high-precision mechanical splice technology enables fiber optic networks to be installed quickly and cost effectively. The Corning go/no-go feedback signal allows the installer to verify that the installation is performed right the first time, every time. Insert the fiber, activate the cam and watch the pass/fail light illuminate, instilling confidence in every connector installed. The factory-polished ceramic ferrule provides superior quality for end-face geometry. The singlemode OptiSnap™ Connector is available in an ultra physical contact (UPC) polish or an angled physical contact (APC) polish, offering you a higher grade of performance for your field terminations. With fast installation time and low insertion loss, the OptiSnap Connector system provides a good alternative to fusion splicing. Installation is as easy as strip, clean, cleave, cam and crimp.

The FIS FTX Termination Kit includes all the supplies you need to successfully install the FTX series quick term connectors in a convenient carrying case. The FTX connectors are a good solution for field termination of singlemode fibers in Fiber to the “X” applications such as Fiber to the Home, Fiber to the Antenna, Fiber to the MDU, and Fiber to the Business. The FTX connector is available in SC/APC and SC/UPC versions for both 3mm jacketed fiber as well as 900um tight buffered fiber.

The new quick termination fiber optic SC/UPC and SC/APC connector is available in two variations to install onto Singlemode 3mm jacketed or 900um fiber. Intended for Fiber to “x” applications such as home, antenna or Multi-Dwelling residences, it meets Telcordia GR-326 Core test standards. As with all field terminated mechanical connectors utilizing a precision cleaver is necessary for best performance.

The FASTConnect Tool Kit provides all necessary installation tools required for fiber preparation of 250/900µm, 2mm and 3mm cordage for AFL’s prepolished FASTConnect. The Kit carrying case contains all industry standard termination tools, installation instructions, as well as adequate storage for carrying extra FAST connectors for on-site convenience.

CORNING Hot Melts continue to be a popular choice among installers in the field. The Hot Melt connectors utilize an advanced adhesive technology eliminating the application of epoxy. The connectors provide quick termination in 2 minutes or less and are re-heatable to allow for fiber repositioning.
